Dental Bridge Alternatives

1. Partial or Full Dentures: Although these don't require grinding down adjacent teeth, they are not nearly as stable or comfortable as dental bridges/ implants and can affect speech and eating. This type of restoration is less expensive but doesn't look as natural or function as well. The bone underneath a removable partial denture may deteriorate over time, changing the appearance of your smile and face. Also, you will need to remove the prosthesis daily for cleansing and maintenance.

2. Implants: Unlike a bridge, an implant stands on its own support without putting strain on other teeth. This helps to protect surrounding teeth. Dental implants look, feel, and function like a natural tooth. They are strong and stable. Having an open space in your mouth where a missing tooth once was puts your jawbone at risk for deterioration. Dental implants stimulate and preserve natural bone growth, which helps prevent bone loss.
