How A Smile Makeover Is Different At Dental Designs Clinic

Intra-Oral Scanners for Digital Impressions: This refers to the use of a digital intra-oral scanner to get dental scans of the teeth. This is a comfortable experience for patients without the discomfort of gagging due to traditional impression materials.

3D X-Ray/Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT): A dedicated X-ray that produces a 3-dimensional image of your teeth, jawbone, and surrounding structures. We typically use this for patients planning dental implants as part of their smile improvement.

3D face scanner: Six high-resolution cameras and an integrated ring light convert facial photos into a 3D scan. This 3D model of your face is aligned with your digital impressions, a major advantage for aesthetic and cosmetic outcomes.

3D Printing Technology: This technology allows us to create detailed models and appliances from digital scans, as well as copies of your teeth and guides for implant surgery.

CEREC CAD/CAM system: CAD-CAM, which stands for "Computer-Aided Manufacturing and Computer-Aided Design," is a modern technology that uses computers to design and create dental prostheses (such as crowns, bridges, or other tooth replacements). CAD-CAM prostheses are not only strong and long-lasting but also look very natural.

Complete digital dental workflow: We follow a fully digital workflow for our treatment processes, from start to finish, so that there are fewer errors and no unnecessary repetitions. This also reduces treatment time and makes the visit more comfortable for the patient.

Surgical guides for a Fully Guided Keyhole Implant Surgery: We create a custom-made surgical guide for patients who are getting dental implants. This 3D-printed guide helps our dentist place the implant in the exact position, depth, and angle, as planned.

We also use a “keyhole” technique that requires only a small opening in the gum. This causes less discomfort, reduces tissue damage, and promotes faster healing.


Smile Trial: Specifically for patients considering veneers as part of their smile makeover. This is a temporary, non-invasive mock-up of your new smile that lets you see how your veneers could look before any permanent treatment begins. You can view the shape, size, and overall appearance of your new smile. The Smile Trial is completely reversible, with no permanent changes made to your teeth.

Same day crowns: Getting a dental crown done the traditional way may take a few weeks, and over multiple appointments. At Dental Designs Clinic, we offer same day crowns for suitable cases where the dental crown is fabricated in a single day, over 2 visits.

Process Of Getting A Smile Makeover

1. Consultation

Your first visit is a comprehensive examination and treatment-planning session. Together with your dentist, you'll cover:

  • Your goals and expectations from a smile makeover
  • Which teeth are affected and the extent of any damage
  • The health of the gums supporting those teeth
  • A complete smile analysis
  • Your budget and preferred timeline

We will take photographs and digital X-rays. 3D face scans may also be taken. We will then walk you through your treatment options. You may also take this opportunity to ask the dentist any questions you may have about your treatment.

2. Digital Smile Design

Depending on the case, digital smile design may be done. Using your photographs, X-rays, and scans, your dentist creates a digital 3D view of your mouth using Digital Smile Design software. This lets us develop various treatment plans, accounting for the proportions of your teeth, gums, and lips as well as your facial features.

Treatments that can be planned and visualised using digital software tools allow the dentist and the patient to understand the process and know what your smile may look like, avoid misunderstandings, align expectations, and ensure the final outcome is designed around your goals and preferences.

3. Smile Trial

The smile trial procedure is something that is recommended, especially for aesthetic cases, such as dental veneers.

Once the digital smile design is finalised, a copy of your desired smile is fabricated for you to "try on." This stage shows you the end result without any actual treatment being performed. Any adjustments you want are made on the trial material. If you decide not to proceed, for any reason, everything is reversible.

4. Smile Makeover Procedure

Every smile improvement journey is unique. Some take a single session. Others stretch over a few sessions or even a few years if orthodontics, like braces or Invisalign, is part of the plan.

This clinic is one of the best I have ever seen. I saw dr Justin for my implant which I did many years ago, the tooth was loose, and other drs told me to remove it as they could not find out what brand it was but dr Justin was able to take 3d xrays and locate the brand and specially ordered the part in. he saved me from having to do a surgery to remove and put a new implant which would have cost me a bomb. the tooth looks even better than the original thanks to the experieced dental technician Katsuya from Japan. 

Very happy and will keep coming back for my regular dental.
