Smile Makeover
A personalised combination of aesthetic and restorative dental treatments, designed to create a smile that complements your unique facial features.
What Is A Smile Makeover?
A smile makeover is a comprehensive treatment plan that typically consists of multiple dental procedures designed to improve not only the aesthetics of the smile but the function as well.
At Dental Designs Clinic, every smile makeover starts with a conversation. It then turns into a personalised plan and finally results in a smile that is uniquely yours. Our journey to improve smiles relies on a connected digital process. We also offer a Smile Trial procedure where you can see your final result before any drilling, bonding, or whitening starts.
We don't just look at your teeth in isolation. Our planning considers:
- The shape, shade, and alignment of your teeth
- The contour and health of your gums
- The position of your lips when you smile
- Your overall facial proportions
Smile Makeover Treatments At Dental Designs Clinic
Our dentists are well-equipped to assist you in achieving your ideal smile, whether it involves teeth whitening, dental implants, veneers, or orthodontics.
This is a simple and effective way to improve a smile. Natural teeth may undergo wear and tear with age and time. Reshaping corrects any minor imperfections by removing or rounding off a small amount of tooth enamel.
It helps to smooth away small chips, rough spots, or uneven edges to create a symmetrical smile.
When there is a larger amount of tooth enamel loss, bonding may be paired with tooth reshaping.
A dental material that's a similar shade to natural tooth enamel will be used. This material is used to fill and shape the tooth so that it matches your smile.
Teeth whitening is a dental procedure that removes stains and improves the lightness of teeth. It is a popular aesthetic procedure in Singapore.
With time, our teeth can become darker. They may also get stained because of what we eat and drink, like coffee or red wine, or smoke, or even due to bad oral hygiene. Professional teeth whitening includes using dentist-approved whitening gels, either at the dentist's office or at home, to lighten the natural colour of teeth.
Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted to bond and cover the front of teeth in order to make the smile look symmetrical and pleasant. A well-designed set of veneers can:
- Match the colour and shape of your natural teeth
- Close gaps between teeth
Dental crowns and bridges are restorative procedures. They play a vital role in enhancing your smile by restoring your teeth's health, function and appearance, therefore giving you a beautiful and confident smile.
Dental crowns are especially beneficial for damaged teeth, as they can cover teeth with large fillings and protect weakened teeth from further damage, while dental bridges fill in gaps left by missing teeth and help restore proper chewing and speaking abilities.

Why Improving Your Smile Matters
A smile makeover can change the way you look and feel. A nice smile can also make you feel confident.
Your smile is something that is noticed at the very beginning of meeting a person. It helps to reflect who you are before even saying anything, or help to make a positive first impression in situations such as job interviews and social gatherings.
In this video, our doctors share what they look for when assessing a patient’s smile, from subtle details to concerns such as a canted or tilted smile.
Advantages of Smile Makeover:
- Illuminates your smile with brighter, straighter teeth
- Improves oral health conditions
- Boosts confidence and self-esteem through a more harmonious appearance
How A Smile Makeover Is Different At Dental Designs Clinic
Intra-Oral Scanners for Digital Impressions: This refers to the use of a digital intra-oral scanner to get dental scans of the teeth. This is a comfortable experience for patients without the discomfort of gagging due to traditional impression materials.
3D X-Ray/Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT): A dedicated X-ray that produces a 3-dimensional image of your teeth, jawbone, and surrounding structures. We typically use this for patients planning dental implants as part of their smile improvement.
3D face scanner: Six high-resolution cameras and an integrated ring light convert facial photos into a 3D scan. This 3D model of your face is aligned with your digital impressions, a major advantage for aesthetic and cosmetic outcomes.
3D Printing Technology: This technology allows us to create detailed models and appliances from digital scans, as well as copies of your teeth and guides for implant surgery.
CEREC CAD/CAM system: CAD-CAM, which stands for "Computer-Aided Manufacturing and Computer-Aided Design," is a modern technology that uses computers to design and create dental prostheses (such as crowns, bridges, or other tooth replacements). CAD-CAM prostheses are not only strong and long-lasting but also look very natural.
Surgical guides for a Fully Guided Keyhole Implant Surgery: We create a custom-made surgical guide for patients who are getting dental implants. This 3D-printed guide helps our dentist place the implant in the exact position, depth, and angle, as planned.
We also use a “keyhole” technique that requires only a small opening in the gum. This causes less discomfort, reduces tissue damage, and promotes faster healing.
Smile Trial: Specifically for patients considering veneers as part of their smile makeover. This is a temporary, non-invasive mock-up of your new smile that lets you see how your veneers could look before any permanent treatment begins. You can view the shape, size, and overall appearance of your new smile. The Smile Trial is completely reversible, with no permanent changes made to your teeth.
Invisalign Diamond Provider: Dental Designs Clinic is an Invisalign Diamond Provider, and our dentists are Invisalign-accredited. This means that the clinic has achieved recognition for its Invisalign experience across various tooth conditions.
In-house lab: We have an in-house lab where we make all our teeth models, dental protheses and dental appliances. This is different from other clinics, where they send the lab work to an external dental lab. This means we can control the quality of our work, such as for crowns and bridges. This also reduces the turnaround time.
Same day crowns: Getting a dental crown done the traditional way may take a few weeks, and over multiple appointments. At Dental Designs Clinic, we offer same day crowns for suitable cases where the dental crown is fabricated in a single day, over 2 visits.
Why Choose Dental Designs for Smile Makeover in Singapore
Fully digital workflow with in-house lab
We create all our restorations in our in-house lab to ensure full quality control. The process is entirely digital, beginning with a sleek intraoral scanner that captures detailed impressions of your teeth, eliminating the need for uncomfortable, messy molds that make you gag.
Experienced dentists
Our dentists work closely with our ceramists to achieve that balance of aesthetics and functionality for your restorations. We strive to improve your overall oral health so you can have a normal life for years to come before you need to make another trip to your dentist.
Can be completed on the same day
Thanks to our in-house lab, if you are in need of a veneer/crown, we are able to offer them on the same day. This means that you only have to come for a couple of hours in one day to complete your treatment, unlike other clinics which require multiple appointments on separate days. This frees up your valuable time.
High strength ceramic from Europe
We source our materials exclusively from Europe for consistent quality. Our restorations are crafted using one of two techniques: they are either milled from a single block of feldspar using a delicate milling strategy to reduce cracks and microfractures, or they are pressed into a mold under high temperature and pressure to be thin and strong.
Centrally located, accessible by car & MRT
Our clinic is designed with comfort in mind, for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. Relax in plush chairs, listen to soothing music, and enjoy ceiling-mounted TVs. We’re also conveniently located, easily accessible by car or MRT.
5 year warranty for bridges/crowns/veneers
We are committed to taking good care of your health. We also take pride in our work and are confident in its quality. That’s why we are happy to offer you a 5 year warranty on our bridges/crowns/veneers. Terms and conditions apply.

Process Of Getting A Smile Makeover
1. Consultation
Your first visit is a comprehensive examination and treatment-planning session. Together with your dentist, you'll cover:
- Your goals and expectations from a smile makeover
- Which teeth are affected and the extent of any damage
- The health of the gums supporting those teeth
- A complete smile analysis
- Your budget and preferred timeline
We will take photographs and digital X-rays. 3D face scans may also be taken. We will then walk you through your treatment options. You may also take this opportunity to ask the dentist any questions you may have about your treatment.
2. Digital Smile Design
Depending on the case, digital smile design may be done. Using your photographs, X-rays, and scans, your dentist creates a digital 3D view of your mouth using Digital Smile Design software. This lets us develop various treatment plans, accounting for the proportions of your teeth, gums, and lips as well as your facial features.
Treatments that can be planned and visualised using digital software tools allow the dentist and the patient to understand the process and know what your smile may look like, avoid misunderstandings, align expectations, and ensure the final outcome is designed around your goals and preferences.
3. Smile Trial
The smile trial procedure is something that is recommended, especially for aesthetic cases, such as dental veneers.
Once the digital smile design is finalised, a copy of your desired smile is fabricated for you to "try on." This stage shows you the end result without any actual treatment being performed. Any adjustments you want are made on the trial material. If you decide not to proceed, for any reason, everything is reversible.
4. Smile Makeover Procedure
Every smile improvement journey is unique. Some take a single session. Others stretch over a few sessions or even a few years if orthodontics, like braces or Invisalign, is part of the plan.
Depending on your treatment plan, you may have one or a combination of:
- Tooth reshaping
- Tooth filling
- Gum contouring
- Teeth straightening with braces or Invisalign
- Teeth whitening
- Dental veneers
- Dental crowns and bridges
- Dental implants
5. Post-Op Care and Review Checks
The follow-up or review appointments after any dental procedure are important. During these visits, the dentist will be able to check how you are healing. They will also be able to provide personalised guidelines on how to take care of your teeth and what to eat.
Depending on the case, you may have multiple review appointments. These visits help your dentist make any necessary adjustments to improve the long-term success of the treatment.
Post-Operative Care for Your New Smile
Discomfort
Some initial discomfort is normal. If you experience persistent pain or discomfort, contact your dentist for evaluation.
Teeth Grinding
If you grind or clench your teeth (bruxism), you should consider using a nightguard to protect your crown and other teeth during sleep.
Avoid Hard Foods
Refrain from chewing on hard items like ice, bones, or tough nuts to prevent wear and potential damage to your new smile.
Oral Hygiene
Maintain regular oral hygiene practices, including brushing and flossing around the crown area. Use a non-alcoholic mouthwash if recommended.
Smile Makeover Cost In Singapore
The smile makeover cost in Singapore can vary significantly based on the treatment plan your dentist designs for you. Several factors influence final pricing:
- The extent of dental work needed
- The specific treatments included in your plan
- The materials selected for restorations and any artificial teeth
For example, cases requiring multiple dental implants with zirconia restorations naturally cost more than those needing only tooth reshaping and filling. That said, investing in a smile makeover delivers long-term benefits; the impact on your confidence, self-esteem, and overall well-being often outweighs the upfront cost.
During your consultation, your dentist will provide a detailed breakdown of the costs involved so you can plan with full transparency.

This dental clinic has very good staff who are well trained and friendly. The dentists are also very good and will explain the treatment in detail before starting treatment. The equipment is very high tech and I believe they are able to do high quality work as I did my crown here and it looks much better than my colleague who also recently did his at another place. The waiting room is also very comfortable. good job!

This clinic is one of the best I have ever seen. I saw dr Justin for my implant which I did many years ago, the tooth was loose, and other drs told me to remove it as they could not find out what brand it was but dr Justin was able to take 3d xrays and locate the brand and specially ordered the part in. he saved me from having to do a surgery to remove and put a new implant which would have cost me a bomb. the tooth looks even better than the original thanks to the experieced dental technician Katsuya from Japan.
Very happy and will keep coming back for my regular dental.
G. Hock An
my workplace is close by and I had a problem with my tooth for a few days, so I made an appointment to come down. The receptionist who booked my appointment was very helpful and friendly to explain the way to the clinic from my office. I saw Dr Nicholas who was able to do a root canal treatment on the same visit so that I didn't need to come back. I felt safe and comfortable to do my dental treatment here as the dental picks are all wrapped up and sterilized and only opened before each treatment when im inside.
